It was with some little difficulty that we figured out how to
get off the freeway and make our way into the vicinity of Independance Hall.
We drove through a very old section of town. Cars were parked everywhere,
making the driving a bit difficult. Nearer to Independance hall there was
metered parking. I would be a good idea to have $5 worth of quarters along
with you. Here is a street view just down the block from Indepencance Hall.

Here is my tourist shot of the liberty bell. We had to wait in line about
15 minutes, then we got the 15 minute tour. The guide emphasized that the
long crack in the bell is not really a crack, but instead a repair. When a
hairline crack develops the edges on each side rub when the bell is wrung
and it sounds awful. One fixes a crack by drilling holes along the crack.
The bell developed another hairline crack near the top and couldn't be
repaired and still have the physical integrity to be wrung.

Here is the rear of Independance Hall. We got there late in the afternoon, so we
couldn't wait in the long line. To the way left, out of view, is the wing where the
U.S. Supreme Court initially met. To the far right barely in view is the wing where
Congress met.

Here is the statue that you see in the previous picture.
