We rode the subway and got off at the Brooklyn
Bridge stop. It's just a short one block walk to go
out to the beginning of the bridge. You can walk
all the way across if you like. We had a few sprinkles
while we were out on the bridge, but no real rain.
At the lower right side you see the girders below which cars travel. At mid far left
you see the Manhattan Bridge, which also crosses to Queens in Brooklyn. Look at
the thicker suspension
mechanism that flows up to the bridge tower. It seems to me like pipes that are
bolted together.

This picture gives a good view of the bridge cabling. Look at the top
and you will again see what looks like bolted pipes. This is Sunday: quite a
few fellow tourists are out to see the view.

Here is my attempt at an artistic shot.

This photo was taken from under the Manhattan side tower, looking back to the
Manhattan side. I had to marvel at the tall buildings of downtown.
|
Looking ahead toward the Queens side. Again, the Manhattan bridge is visible
along the left side of the photo.
