The buildings have become very crowded.
Let's just mosey on thru here ...
Some woman is giving me the evil eye.
Back outside again. I prefer the crowed outdoors to the crowded indoors.
Here is the signature sight at the Minnesota State fair - the slight
rise in the road lets you look far down one of the long streets and
the huge crowd stretches out before you.
Here we are in the dairy building. Here you get your cheese curds
and ice cream - cones or a sundae. You can also get a very inexpensive
glass of milk.
The fair doesn't have a tunnel of love, but does have the old
mill ride, which amounts to the same thing. Couldn't help humming
Bruce Springsteins "Tunnel of Love" to myself as we waited in line.
The water looks positively horrid. The ride itself was
long and totally dark!
I asked these girls if I could take their picture. I should have
asked just what they were selling.
Every election year state and national candidates man booths at
along the broad avenues of the fairgrounds. 2002 is an election
year, and Margaret looks at literature for Tim Penny, Independent
party Gubenatorial hopeful.
Here is Tim - he used to be a U.S. Congressman from southern Minnesota.
He retired from politics for a number of years, fed up with
partianship. Now that Governor Jessie Ventura won't run again,
Penny came forward as the Independant party candidate.
