I took a sampling of things found within the Louve - just
things that caught my eye. I tried using an inexpensive digital camera.
Most of these pictures did not turn out, but here
are the ones that did.

I think the head was from a Roman statue. I think the carved box is a casket.
A beautiful tiled scene.
I believe this is a famous picture by Leonardo da Vinci.
Just pictures that caught my eye.
Delacroix's The 28th of July 1830: Liberty Leading the People--
is in the Denon wing and is an icon of French culture.
There sure is plenty of art detailing the Napoleonic era.
If you like women's butts, this is the place for you.
It is still relatively uncrowded. It is very ambitious to try and see the
whole Musee du Louvre in one day.
There is art collected here in every imaginable form.
I always think that this kind of portrait captures in time a person who
has not existed for hundreds of years. No wonder women have always taken to
painters, as they can provide immortality in a fashion.
I believe this might be Romeo and Juliet, but am not certain.
I just love the expression on this rather darkly colored portrait.
You just can't beat the naked female form.
I snapped a quick picture on our way out.
When we came to the Louvre there were no other people about. After spending four hours
in the museum there are substantially more people about.
