F - Niagara Falls.
I made our reservation at the Marriott seven months in advance. I asked for a falls view
room above the 8th floor. We got a room on the 22nd floor: the view was
unbelievable.

We quickly learned that to get from the hotel level down to the level of the sidewalk that
runs along the falls you take the incline railway. It runs every so often but costs
two dollars per person per trip. You can buy an all-day pass, which we did one day.
|
Here you can see the American and Bridal falls (left) and the Canadian Horseshoe falls (right).
The rainbow created in the mist above the falls is one of the trademarks of the experience.
|
I like this picture - note the Canadian Horseshoe falls in the background, the water ready to go over the
falls in the bottom right corner, the giant rocks at the bottom of the falls, and
the smeared rainbow.
The mark in the sky is dirt on the window.
|
The American Falls in the distance also generate a rainbow. The right-most stream of
water is considered a separate waterfall and is named Bridal Veil Falls. Note all the tourists
on the boardwalks below the falls. We will be where they are in a few days.
|
You get the sense of the flow and power of the falls. The water at the edge reminded
me of green glass. I like the giant pointed rock that water flows over - you can see it at
the bottom of the picture.
